This class introduces the technique of Applipiecing, which can produce wonderful curved lines, and very sharp points with ease. It is a combination of freezer paper applique and paper piecing… with a twist. The use of ombres creates luminosity and movement in this fun, fast moving class. You’ll transfer the design to freezer paper, and iron fabric onto freezer paper pattern pieces. You will be able to see the design develop on the provided design board instantly. Finish by learning the unique way of sewing each piece together. A light box is required to complete this class. (Could be shared)

Originally from Fairbanks, Karen McCarty now splits her time between Arizona and Oregon. She has been quilting for almost 40 years. She started before rotary cutters and mats, machine piecing and hand quilting. Over the years she has delved into raw edge and turned applique, paper piecing, playing with hexies, landscapes, painting on fabric, and free motion quilting. She has displayed her work in the San Diego area, at Road to California, the Arizona Quilt Guild Shows and at Houston. Her current quilting interest revolves around applipiecing. And she is looking forward to sharing this technique with you.
