You are no longer required to have a backing, batting and binding when you donate your quilt top.
If you prefer to make the quilt top only, you may turn it into the “Quilt Tops only” bin in Cabinet 104S. The CS Committee will cut batting, prepare backing and make it available for Longarm volunteers to quilt and bind it.
If you would prefer to quilt and bind your charity quilt top, we can provide batting, backing, binding or whatever you need to complete your quilt. (You can find backing and binding materials in our fabric resources.)
If you are completing a charity quilt and intend to quilt it yourself, and would like to receive batting from the club, please submit a Community Service Batting Request Form through the website. It is essential that you provide the precise measurements of your quilt top. If you plan to quilt this project on the longarm, please ensure that your backing fabric is at least 5 inches larger on all sides.
Example - top is 45” wide and 65” long make backing 55“ wide and 75” long.
FOR GALLERY SALES ITEMS Provide the size of the batting that you need. No additional batting will be provided for quilting.
