The Tamarack Quilted Jacket (photo) by Grainline Studio will be taught to those interested, needing two jelly rolls plus batting (or flannel), muslin and lining. You may wish to design your own quilt pattern or repurpose an old quilt. Buy your chosen jacket pattern (suggestions below) before class to study and buy fabrics, etc.
Bring lunch, sewing machine, walking or dual feed feet, thread, sewing supplies, pattern, fabrics, batting, muslin.
The second class will concentrate on cutting pattern pieces and starting the construction of jacket. You will need to work on this project at home between classes and to complete the jacket

Free-motion quilting is a great way to finish your quilt. If you have never been brave enough to try it, or are unsure where to start, this is the class for you! It’s a great way to use your sewing machine creatively. It is not difficult, you don’t even need to be artistic to get some great results. This class will give you the confidence and skills to finally quilt your own quilts on your home sewing machine.

Let’s learn how to make mini shirt quilt blocks! We will start with cutting the fabric for several quilt blocks using the Moda pattern called “Collection for a Cause, Sunshine.” Click this link for the pattern: https://www.modafabrics.com/webfiles/fp_cfac-sunshine.pdf
Download, print and bring to class. It’s best if you have this in color. If you do not have a color printer, you can make a copy in the gallery using someone’s original (do this in advance of the class please).
Note that the pattern says to make 23 blocks. I only make 20 for the entire quilt, so you can plan accordingly.
My goal for this class is to make at least two (or more) of the shirt blocks during class. You can then decide if you want to tackle the quilt or make something smaller.
