Let’s learn how to make mini shirt quilt blocks! We will start with cutting the fabric for several quilt blocks using the Moda pattern called “Collection for a Cause, Sunshine.” Click this link for the pattern:  https://www.modafabrics.com/webfiles/fp_cfac-sunshine.pdf
Download, print and bring to class. It’s best if you have this in color. If you do not have a color printer, you can make a copy in the gallery using someone’s original (do this in advance of the class please).
Note that the pattern says to make 23 blocks. I only make 20 for the entire quilt, so you can plan accordingly.
My goal for this class is to make at least two (or more) of the shirt blocks during class. You can then decide if you want to tackle the quilt or make something smaller.

Do you have an interesting skill or fun pattern that you’d like to teach but are not sure about how or if you can? Are you curious about how I schedule classes?
I will show you how easy it is to set up and teach a class in the PC Quilt Club. You will leave class with a simple step-by-step description of the process, the 3 pieces of information needed for me to create the class registration, and tips for a successful class.
If you’re not sure about speaking in front of a class, pair up with someone who is more comfortable, and teach together.  It’s always good to have a second person to help students as they work through the project.

Free-motion quilting is a great way to finish your quilt.  If you have never been brave enough to try it, or are unsure where to start, this is the class for you!  It’s a great way to use your sewing machine creatively.  It is not difficult, you don’t even need to be artistic to get some great results.  This class will give you the confidence and skills to finally quilt your own quilts on your home sewing machine.
This is a 2 part class.  Day 1 is required to attend.   We will have a discussion on threads, needles and quilting feet.  You will learn how to set your machine up for free-motion quilting and how to “drop the feed dogs”.  We will review the correct darning foot and walking foot for your machine.  Please bring your owner’s manual.
Day 2: You will learn to use a walking foot for straight line foundation quilting. After that, we will move on to extensive covering of free-motion quilting. You will also learn how to handle large quilts on your domestic machine.
